The Centre for Public Policy and Government Studies of the University of Alcalá was created on November 16th 2006, through a collaboration agreement between the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá and the consulting firm Cariotipo MH5.
Among its activities, the Centre develops scientific, cultural and informative training courses, seminars and projects within spheres such as Politics and Government, Economic Policy and Sectorial Policies in Health, Science and Technology.

Politics and Government schools are a veritable institution in several of our neighboring countries. World powers, including the oldest European democracies, such as France and England, and other decisive powers such as Canada and the United States have long-established centres of political studies.

The initiative was born from the Governing Council of the University of Alcalá and Cariotipo MH5, with the initial sponsorship of the pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), joined by Banco Santander Central Hispano (BSCH) and Madrid Chamber of Commerce (CCM).
